Occupied for thousands of years, Les Eyzies has been named the world capital of prehistory, due to its numerous archaeological discoveries. It is here that theCro-Magnon Man was discovered.

The castle of Commarque : Only a few minutes away, between the campsite and Les Eyzies, in our little valley, is one of the most beautiful castles of the Dordogne. Inhabited from prehistoric times to the Middle Ages. It is a remarkable and complex site, composed of troglodytic dwellings, a medieval castle and a cave.

Once you’ve settled in to the campsite, why not take it a step further?

The Lot is just next door. The Dordogne also crosses the department of the Lot. Only 1 hour away, drive along the roads and discover great UNESCO heritage sites and the most beautiful villages in France.

Follow in the footsteps of the Magdalenians in the village of La Madeleine. Walk through the troglodytic habitat overhanging the Vézère river of la Roque Saint Chrisophe. History is part of the Vézère Valley. Visit also the park of Thot, the fortified house of Reignac, the site of Régourdou, the shelter of Cap Blanc or the Conquil.

But it’s not just that. The Vézère valley also offers breathtaking landscapes and typical villages. Retrace the steps ofJacquou le Croquant in the village of Fanlac. Take a break on the banks of the river Vézère in Saint Léon sur Vézère. One of the most beautiful villages of France with Limeuil and Saint Amand de Coly.
